ABOUT THE HOME

HOLDINGHAM HOUSE

Holdingham House is a specialist supported living service which has been developed to enable people with learning disabilities, including those with autism, physical disabilities, complex needs and behaviours that challenge to live happy, healthy, safe lives and to achieve their full potential. This service aims to deliver individually designed care and support to enable people to lead independent, meaningful lives as active members of the community. We work in partnership with the people we support, their family and friends and will encourage their active involvement, ensuring their views and comments are listened to and acted upon.

Our experienced and well-trained staff provide individualised care and a clear Positive Behavioural Support pathway to promote independence and choice. We recognise that a good quality of life, an excellent quality environment, and building self-esteem are paramount for people with complex needs. There is a universal commitment within the whole of Glenholme to treat those we support and their families with dignity and respect.

Holdingham House is a purpose-built high-intensity specialist home, designed to better support the needs of people who have profound and severe needs and risks related to behaviours that may challenge; including those that have previously experienced difficulties with finding suitable long-term placements, or a breakdown of placements with other providers who were unable to meet their complex needs. These often relate to their learning disability, autism spectrum disorder, personality disorder, self-injury and aggression.

We support the individual to gain confidence and feel safe with the people who are working with them. We create a package of support that is based on a community inclusive outlook in their local area and work with the support networks of the individual to maintain the crucial links that promote positive wellbeing and control for the individual.

Holdingham House was completed in 2020 and consists of six spacious rooms. Designed to cater to its residents’ needs; the home features large communal living areas and activity rooms, and low arousal interiors. Each resident has their own private outdoor space as well as access to a communal garden. This service also has a sensory room that provides a multi-sensory environment with visual, tactile, and audible equipment which can be enjoyed passively and interactively.

Holdingham House is situated in a quiet neighbourhood on the outskirts of the old market town Sleaford and is within walking distance to local amenities, including the supermarkets, gyms with swimming facilities, pubs, cafes and restaurants, a library, and parks. The area also boasts plenty of idyllic walking routes along waterways, around lakes, or in local small woodland areas.
